Welcome to Your OChem "Second Brain"!
Getting Started with the Template
-
Download the App
First, make sure you have the app installed on your device. You’ll need it to fully access and use the template.
-
Access the Menu
Once the app is installed, tap the three lines on this link (usually in the top left or right corner, depending on your device).
-
Download the Template
In the menu, you’ll see an option to download the template. Tap “Download,” and the template will be added to your app, giving you full control to start customizing it.
This template is designed to help you manage everything related to OChem throughout the semester. However, it’s flexible enough to be adapted for any class you’re taking. Here’s how to use it:
1. Set Your Semester Goals
- Start by writing down your goals for the semester. This section is great for keeping yourself motivated, as you’ll see these goals every time you visit this page.
2. Navigate the Dashboard
- The dashboard includes pages with more specific information, such as:
- A list of all your assignments.
- An exam tracker.
- Other study tools and resources.
3. Check the "Due Today" Section
- This section displays all assignments due today. When you enter your tasks into the master assignment page, they will automatically appear here if the due date matches today’s date.
4. Add New Assignments with Ease
- You’ll notice buttons that let you quickly add tasks:
- "New Assignment": Add any task or assignment due throughout the semester.
- "New Assignment for Today": Add a task specifically for today’s To-Do list.
5. View Everything on the Weekly and Monthly Calendar
- All tasks added to the assignment tracker will automatically show up on the calendar displayed on the front page, so you can easily see what’s coming up each week or month.
6. Track Your Assignment Status
- As you update the status of your tasks in the “Due Today” section:
- Mark a task as “Completed!” to remove it from your To-Do list and declutter your view.
- Completed tasks aren’t deleted permanently! You can view them by going to the assignments page and selecting the "Completed Assignments" view, where you’ll find a record of everything you’ve accomplished.

1. Title Your Pages with Goals in Mind
- Instead of listing every To-Do item, think of each time block as a specific goal. For example:
- “OChem Lecture”: Use this when you have a scheduled lecture.
- “Study”: For a dedicated study session, specify the class in the class tag.
- To add time blocks, you can either click the “Add to Planner” button, or just click on a specific date!
2. Organize with Class Tags
- Each page includes a section to add a class tag. This helps you track what subject or class each time block is for.
- Example: If the title is “Study” and you’re focusing on Organic Chemistry, select the “OChem” tag.
3. Customize Colors and Class Names
- You can easily change the colors and update class names to match your preferences.
4. Setting the Date and Time
- Make sure to toggle on the “End Date” and “Include Time” options so that the time block appears correctly in the weekly calendar view.
- For the single time display (where only the time is shown), you don’t need to adjust anything. It’s set up with a code snippet that keeps the planner looking neat.
- For the planner, you can either view your whole week or if you click on “Today’s Planner” it will show you time blocks for “today’s date.”
5. Planning Recurring Tasks
- If you have something that repeats weekly (like a recurring class or study session), the easiest way to add it is to duplicate the existing time block:
- Double-click the page you want to repeat.
- Duplicate the information.
- Drag and drop it into the correct spot in your weekly calendar.
6. Tracking Your Progress
- After completing a time block, check the box to mark it as done. The time block remains visible, allowing you to review your progress at the end of the week and make any necessary adjustments.
7. Notion Calendar
- If you want a better time blocking method, download the Notion app and sync this database to the Notion calendar app. This database is the “Study Planner” database!
